Ken Takahashi first ventured in the media arts back in 1996 when he joined his local university radio station, CHUO 89.1 FM, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. A few years later, he went to Carleton U's radio station, CKCU 93.1 FM, where he is best remembered for his alter ego, Mr. Microwave, on his show Mr. Microwave. Past guests interviewed include Amon Tobin, Merzbow, E.A.R., and the Third Eye Foundation. In addition to being a regular on the airwaves, Mr. Microwave was the character behind Ken's solo electronic music side-project. Inspired by all his sweetums, Mr. Microwave rocked his audience with happy, bubbly beats. Since 2000, Ken has been making films. His most successful film, The Milkman, won several awards and was televised nationally on CBC Television's ZeD TV . His films have been screened internationally including film festivals in New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and London. Ken also composes music for film and has freelanced for CBC Radio One. Ken has a B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology & a B.A. in Philosophy and is now attending Law School at the University of Ottawa. |
